Im not expert obviously. But This is most likely a mix of post partum depression and a lack of maternal connection. Some people just truly don’t form that maternal nature and connection to their kids through or after pregnancy.
And she def has some serious depression happening too. And the fact that people are blaming her and putting her in a hard position with all the pressure to be a good mother- when she isnt in a good place mentally to do so. Def doesnt help. Things like depression are very much out of the person’s control. It’s not her fault yet all they keep doing is asking her: Why isnt she better? Why cant she be a good mother? Why cant she love him?
Sometimes people just arent meant to be parents man and have very little attachment to their kids sadly. Not to day they dont still love them. But it does happen.
